Napheys and Company of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The product was sold by Thurber, Whyland and Company. Lard is made from pig fat and was often used like butter. Vegetable shortening was invented in the early 1900s, and offered an alternative while cooking. This is one of the most rare grocery related original advertising items we have procured. It is from a rare
