Amsonia montana Short Stack Andropogon "Rare and Precious Plants ofWe love blue stars, and are excited to have introduced Amsonia 'Short Stack' in 2003, selected from a batch of seedlings in the 1980s. We have offered Amsonia 'Short Stack' as a selection of Amsonia "montana", which appears to be a non valid name which first appeared in 1977 in Buckley's 1977 Canadian Garden Perennials, for what may be a dwarf form of Amsonia tabernaemontana. Amsonia 'Short Stack' is happy in our rock garden where its dwarf, 10" tall
